Bell Rock Lighthouse is the oldest surviving sea-washed lighthouse in the world and the masonry used in the lighthouse has not been repaired since it was built in 1807.

Other comments: Before the lighthouse was put on the rock hundreds of ships sank by hitting the rocks and even after the light was put there. The most famous of the wrecks is the armoured cruiser HMS Argyle. (pictures of her now below)

Its very good for scenic diving as well being so far offshore the visibility is usually very good.
