Wreck Information: The tanker DAGHESTAN was torpedoed and sunk by the German submarine U57, whilst en-route from Scapa Flow to Sullom Voe, Shetlands on Government service and carrying 7,600 tons of crude oil.

Other comments: On the 25th March 1940, together HM ships Icarus and Impulsive, the Firedrake was sent to search for the U-57 responsible for sinking the tanker Daghestan.
