Wreck Information:   Built by J. Readhead & Co., So. Shields as Yard No.197 in August 1883 for the SS Wylo Co., Ltd., Liverpool with Gracie, Beazley & Co. the managers. Official No.87893. She was powered by a 135hp compound steam engine that used one boiler. She had one deck, a well deck, four watertight bulkheads 95ft quarter deck, 52ft bridge deck and 26ft forecastle. Dimensions of 76.2m length by 11.02m beam and 5.33m draught In 1896 renamed BILLIO by G. L. Vatis & Co., Syra, registered in Greece 1899 renamed EXCELSIOR by Rederi A/B Excelsior, Helsingborg, Sweden, mangers were J. M. Pettersson. New Official No.3470. She sunk on 6 February 1940, while voyaging from Göteborg (Gothenburg) & Aberdeen to Dundee, with general cargo. The mine was laid on 23 December 1939 by U 13

Dive Report: Gavindiver, May 07 Dived it today by mistake the buoy is tied on to the top of the "135hp compound steam engine" very impressive but this bit "Single screw" is even more impressive. It has collapsed out the way and the fore end is missing.
