Travel directions: Catterline is situated around 6 miles South of Stonehaven, on the scenic A92 coastal route. You take the turnoff heading seawards at Roadside of Kinneff. Once in the small village of Catterline you pass the entrance ramp for the Creel Inn on your left, you drive on past there and veer left and downwards towards the sea. MULTIMAP
Parking directions: The parking area and access to the sea are obvious. Montrose Sub Aqua Club have no objections to anyone using the newly upgraded car park as long as you are considerate in the way you park

Other comments: Diving is anywhere seaward from the car park (i.e. northeast of the pier). There are several reefs parallel to the shore, as well as the islands (although those are some distance for a shore dive). The area near the shore is very shallow in general (10 m max). and the reefs come very close to the surface on low tide (to be avoided). As with most ofthe sites on the east coast it can be a it silty but it is very nice in clear conditions.Looking seaward from the pier, an island can be observed at high water but at low water it's just part of the adjoining mainland.
