A-Clamp connection is an old design that although is still used is slowly being replaced with Din connections. If you are buying scuba kit for the first time get din connections on the first stages and on your cylinders. A-Clamp connections work well but are not as safe as Din.

Din connection on the first stages is the Industry standard now for diving and If you are buying for the first time is the sensible thing to buy, dont save money now and pay later.

The most popular regulators are with tech divers are Apex as they are readily available anywhere in the world and can be serviced worldwide and the service costs are not expensive. The Apex TX40 is a basix valve with few moving parts and therfore less to go wrong. Price/Performance you cant go wrong here. |

Air II is a great idea for scuba diving as you have a secnd stage you can breath from and BCD inflate in a position you can get quickly. The general thought here is the scubapro is the best out there. Its small easy to use and is very reliable. The APD Autoair works but is big and aukward to use.
