Devonshire cup coral

Devonshire cup coral Caryophyllia smithii - Solitary coral. Up to 3cm across. The most widespread of all the British corals found not just in Devon but along all western coasts, around Scotland and down to the east coast of Northumberland, also eastwards along Channel to West Sussex. Found attached to rocks from low water to about 100m.
