Wreck Information: It collided with Balmoral Castle after launching, in June 1888. The stern was sheared off and sank during the collision. Forepart of POW was taken in tow by another steamer but foundered before it could be beached.
Harbour / slip: Wemyss bay or Inverkip marina.

Lat & Long: The Bow of the POW is just out from the ferry terminal at position 55 52 33N, 004 54 00W The wreck is lying on an orientation of 165/345 degrees, on a slope on the east side of the main channel. The stern section (could be south of the Kintyre)

Other comments: The wreck is upside down with the bows pointing back towards Wemyss bay in 62m. The paddle wheels are draped in fishing nets. The stern has not been found yet

Dive Report: Sharky She is out from the ferry terminal, we dived from the Flying Eagle, the skipper would only put us on her on a flood tide so that we would drift away from the ferry route. It's nice not to get run over at the end of your dive.
