San Tiburcio

Wreck Information: The San Tiburcio was a steel coastal tanker built in 1921 in New York by the Standard shipbuilding corp for the Eagle Oil and Shipping Company. She struck a mine on 4th May 1940 and broke in two. The two sections lie about 20 metres apart, the bow section in excellent condition, the stern slightly more broken up. Tides are rarely an issue on this wreck and the visibility can be in excess of 15 metres.
