Wreck Information: She was decommissioned after the war and she was towed from Malta to her final resting place in the beautiful surroundings of Cromarty Firth. Sunk intentionally in 1950 as a sonic training target for Shackleton aircraft from RAF Kinloss. She was built by Vickers Armstrong (Barrow-in-Furness, U.K.) : John Brown Shipbuilding & Engineering Company Ltd. (Clydebank, Scotland). The six forward torpedo tubes are all in place, with the external doors open. HMS Tantivy had originally been fitted with a deck cannon and the gun platform is still there with the ammunition lockers in place.
