Wreck Information: She struck the dock wall leaving Liverpool on 25 September 1988. The holds had flooded to the point where the crew were evacuated by helicopter and the Ardlough sank. She was bound from Liverpool for Belfast in September 1988. The bow and stern stand up from the seabed and midships has colapsed.
Cargo: Steel in the shape of bars, sheet and rods, coal, rolls of newsprint, tobacco, biscuits, foam blocks, drums of hydrogen peroxide and sodium hypochlorite, and one container of low-level radioactive material routed to Belfast. Some of the containers were never found.

Other comments: Surrounding the wreck on the sea bed are the containers which were on the deck and the entire stern section of the wreck is tilted aft and to starboard.
