Royal fusilier
Type: 2187 ton 90m long British steamer. She was hit by German bombers on the 3rd of June 1941 with a cargo of 50 tons rice and 70 tons paper from London to Leith. Abandoned but boarded again and taken in tow by a destroyer. After 2 hours the towline parted, and tug Sea Chive made fast and continued towing until the vessel sank. The crew of 27 were all saved. Sister ship to the Royal Archer. The records for 'Caledon Ship Building and Engineering Co. Ltd, Caledon Ship Yard, Dundee, Tayside', who built the engines and boilers for the Royal Fusilier are now housed in the Dundee District Archive and Records Centre, City Chambers, Dundee, DD1 3BY. There are also some! records in the National Maritime Museum.

Wreck Information: She lies on her port side deep in silt and sticks only 2 - 3 meters above the sea bed.
