Wreck Information : Former Danish Royal Yacht, ran aground on the East side of the Isle of May 13 April 1937 and the SS Island is now owned by Perth SSAC.

Distance from harbour: 23 Nm from Arbroath, 9.6 Nm from Noth Berwick, 11.2 Nm from Dunbar.
Lat / Long: 56.11.02N 02.32.52W (from Bob Bairds’ shipwrecks of the Forth and Tay)

Depth: 10 to 15 metres
Tides: Tide tables are not too critical at the site, however be aware if you use Anstruther that the harbour dries out at some tide states and that the slip is used by the lifeboat and must not be blocked

Other comments: The wreck is now scattered wreckage over a wide area, some wreckage can be seen on the Isle above high water line which can be seen 12 metres up the cliff. The biggest parts left are the boilers (pictured below), the remainder being broken and twisted girders plates etc. The remainder is flattened, except the bows
